Overview

This training is designed to enrich leaders of INGOs, NGOs, CSOs and community groups with the theories, schools of thought, tools and techniques for Strategic Planning & Vision Setting. It covers a mix of topics from SWOT Analysis, PESTLE Analysis, VMOS Analysis, Balanced Scorecard, KPIs, OKRs among other tools and ways of analyzing an organization, its context, the needs of the community and how the team can strategize for the future. It also looks are different “Visioning” techniques that get the participants to reflect on their life, their community, their organization, the common values, the aspirations and how they can set a vision that inspires.

Target Group

This training course is targeting Founders, Board Members, Presidents, Executive Directors, and Consultants working with international NGOs, development organizations, local NGOs and Community Based Organizations as well as key individuals from Donor Agencies & Foundations.

  • Know the importance and process of performing a Community Needs Assessments
  • Know how to implement SWOT, PESTLE, VMOS, and other Strategic Planning Analysis Techniques
  • Understand how to develop organizational Values, Vision and Mission using a participatory approach.
  • The importance of setting goals and objectives that supports organizational mission and vision.  
  • Align and incorporate several lenses in Visioning and Strategic Planning including Gender, Minority, Religious, Societal, Vulnerability, Economic, Social, Cultural, Migrant, Employability, and Accessibility.
  • Apply the tools and techniques for Strategic Planning including Strategic Map, Balanced Scorecard, OKR, and KPI Setting
  • Recognize the importance of monitoring and evaluating the progress after implementation.
